Sinach, born Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, came from a humble Nigerian family and grew up as the second of seven children. Her early years were shaped by faith, discipline, education, and a strong family foundation. Although different sources give slightly different details about her birthplace and upbringing, she is widely associated with Ebonyi State and a Christian family environment that greatly influenced her future ministry.

As a young girl, Sinach loved music and often participated in church activities. Her family did not raise her with expectations of becoming an international music star. Like many Nigerian families, education and stability were considered important priorities. She later studied at the University of Port Harcourt, where she earned a degree in Physics.

In June 2014, Sinach married Joseph Egbu, a pastor associated with Christ Embassy. Their marriage attracted attention across the Christian community because of Sinach's growing influence as a worship leader. Despite public interest, the couple chose to keep much of their personal life private.
